Meetings & Conferences
For clients like Schneider National and EPRI, Special D Events recommends keynote speakers, requests speaker abstracts, negotiates and administers contracts, works with clients to craft meeting content and messages, makes suggestions to improve communication with attendees, and produces collateral materials. We handle all the logistics, from inviting the attendees, to accommodations, food, beverage, ground transportation and A/V. Finally, we're on site to manage the event and even facilitate the sessions to make sure our clients achieve meeting goals.
Recognition Events
Special D Events makes client employees feel like "stars" inside their organization. Just ask Comerica Bank. We created an Academy Awards themed event for longstanding employees complete with red carpet, searchlights, limos, adoring "fans", paparazzi, celebrity impersonators, fanfares, acceptance speeches, and even gold-foil wrapped, chocolate "Oscars.”
Trade Shows
In 1992, we researched the viability of coordinating an international exhibit for the nuclear power industry, developed the concept, sold exhibit space, and managed the event. It has become an annual trade show attracting thousands from around the world. Our client, the Electric Power Research Institute, has turned to us year after year to manage this trade show and many others.
Hospitality Events
We have entertained our client's customers and employees worldwide. Over the years they have danced on the flight line at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, sailed on chartered yachts, puzzled over a custom murder mystery dinner, and swapped stories at an authentic Irish pub. Open Houses & Groundbreakings
Planning an expansion? We have helped companies like ArvinMeritor, Nisshinbo Automotive and many others generate excitement with open houses and groundbreakings. We will work with you to attract employees, civic leaders and media; determine traffic flows, create information and directional signage; provide food & beverage; print collateral; develop presentations; generate nametags; organize contests & raffles; procure give-aways; book entertainment and celebrity appearances; gently handle your VIPs – and we will manage the event on-site from load-in to load-out.
Non Profits
Our experience ranges from coordinating golf outings for non-profits such as ACLU of Michigan, all the way to citywide outdoor events for large national organizations like the W. K. Kellogg Foundation. We respect the constraints faced by non-profits and work within their budgets to produce cost effective events. Automotive "Ride & Drives"
From parking lots to race tracks, we find the space our clients need. Special D Events conducted site research, coordinated the logistics and was on-site for numerous Acura and Hyundai retail management meetings. The events were full scale productions, including food & beverage, accommodations, complex A/V, vehicle walk-a-round training, test drives, multi-room concurrent training sessions, and formal graduation ceremonies.
Press Events
Clients hire us again and again to manage their media events such as press tours, press conferences and groundbreakings. Our staff includes communications professionals who not only know how to successfully work with the media, they are former members of the media as well.
